Who We Are
At ITBC, we believe in doing things right and valuing people. As our founder always thought from the beginning, "IT is more about people and relationships than it is about technology."
Founded in 2014, ITBC started with a single QA at Wendy’s Corporate in Columbus who challenged the status quo. Although new, and holding a degree in MIS from Ohio University, this QA had extensive experience with end-to-end startup web, mobile, and IT projects. His solid grasp of the SDLC and Agile principles led him to understand that success in IT was not just about technical expertise but about connecting the dots across different roles and driving projects forward. He consistently stepped in as a BA and SM, showing a willingness to go the extra mile when others said, "That's not my job." His proactive attitude and hard work were instrumental in delivering successful projects at Wendy’s Corporate.
When his sister, a political science major working as a law firm assistant, sought a new career path, he taught her the basics of SDLC, IT, and Agile. Within three months, she secured a POS QA role at Wendy’s and has since worked at Express, Bath & Body Works, Lane Bryant, Abercrombie & Fitch, and more. She is now a Senior Project Manager and Delivery Expert managing major IT projects in Columbus.
This marked the beginning of ITBC. As others inquired about how she got into IT and if they could too, the founder carefully selected and trained the next generation of IT experts. Due to this success, he also became the trusted individual for training and coaching other Scrum teams at Wendy’s. His Scrum certification opened his eyes to the alignment of Scrum and Agile with his values in IT, leading to roles such as QA, BA, SM, Sr. BA, Product Owner, and Enterprise Architect.
The founder continued to seek new projects and experiences, believing that training in IT requires actively doing IT.
In 2024, ITBC will celebrate its 50th successful IT all-star placed in a full-time role. We recruit individuals with a go-getter attitude from diverse careers—nurses, bartenders, therapists, lawyers, police officers, accountants, chiropractors, managers, and more. Recognized by Columbus CEO Magazine and attracting local IT investors in 2022, ITBC has expanded its internal staff and is poised to train as many in the next year as it has in the past decade. Our alumni have worked with top brands like Nationwide, Bank of America, Nationwide Children’s, Cardinal Health, Express, Quantum Health, Select Sires, Speedway, Wendy’s, Caring Transitions, PNC Bank, Bath & Body Works, Bold Penguin, Verizon Wireless, Gravy Stack, Redirect Health, IGS Energy, and more.
The founder continues to Agile Coach at multiple clients while running training sessions. Our alumni often return to pitch in, mentor, and guide the next generation. We are a group of like-minded individuals, all supporting one another, and we believe that IT is more about people than it is about technology.
Our training, updated and verified by an educational consultant, equips alumni with knowledge of all three roles—BA, QA, and SM. They are trained to step in, fill gaps, and drive projects forward.
We prioritize quality over exposure, focusing on delivering skilled talent from diverse backgrounds. With a 100% success rate and impactful results at companies across Columbus, many of which don’t even know our alumni came from us, we remain committed to our mission. As the founder continues to teach, "IT is more about people and relationships than it is about technology."
Over the years, we’ve evolved into a full IT staffing firm, maintaining our quality and boutique approach. We now also offer group training to companies, starting with our IT Bootcamp graduates, bringing fresh, diverse, and expert talent to the Columbus market.
